SnapShot(65)Gallatin County Fiscal Court meets tonight at its regular scheduled monthly meeting. The Judge and Magistrates’ vote to pay off three vehicles(45:45) they owed on, with some extra monies they had left over. The Judge reported the senior center was on schedule (01:55) and under budget and they had a big turnout at the golf outing. Also discussed was the new internet service (03:00) for the county and when they would start on it. The Sheriff’s department will be getting a new Free Air Sniff drug dog (34:42) that can detect Heroin, to help fight the epidemic of the drug in our county. The Sheriff used an example of where he saw people in Cincinnati from Gallatin County,(36:25) that he knew had no business there but could not get a dog fast enough to check them when they returned to KY. Cozine’s towing also addressed the fiscal court over what Harmon Brothers had billed for the horse retrieval from the wreck on I-71 Sunday morning (58:56). He stated they received $4500.00 for their services and they did not even get that much for delivering the dead horses to Tennessee for burial, he also stated Magistrate Joe Shinkle and Sheriff Josh Neal said the hours did not match with the time billed (1hr1min48sec),  but said $2000.00 would have been ok (1hr22sec). The Judge told Spike to send Harmon Brothers a letter asking them to justify the billing. The county will also address it animal ordinances’ (47:59) to make sure they are keeping up with the county animal problems as they seem to be coming more frequent. Also addressed was gun range issues here in the county where people are complaining about people shooting.(51:31) Magistrate Dudly Gullion suggest Harmon Brothers was double billing for dead animal removal (1:02:47).
