At 1411 this afternoon Glencoe Fire Department extracted a driver from his truck at the 58 mile marker on I-71 North.  Gallatin Fire and EMS was also on scene working on other injured personnel.  Kenneth Riddell of Gulfport IN. was air cared after his truck slammed into a Cadillac and then into the rear of an Averett Express truck.  Witnesses said the Averett Express driver Michael Franklin from Drexel NC. was slowing for construction traffic when the AIM driver Kenneth Riddell of Gulfport IN. passed him running over 60 miles an hour hitting the Cadillac in the rear driven by Neil Smith of Albany IN., who was  chauffeuring  a passenger.  They said the AIM truck then hit the Averett Express truck in the rear.  Two people was transported by ambulance with minor injuries and the other air cared, we have no information of the condition of the AIM driver. Rescue crews and emergency workers, worked very hard in the extreme heat to get a lane on the interstate reopened in less than an hour, to get traffic moving.
