We had calls today asking if it was true there is confirmed cases of staph infection at the School. We contacted the Central Office and spoke to the Public Relations Director Miss Debra Foltz. She confirmed there is two (2) cases, one in the High School and the other in the Middle School. The Gallatin County School System is working diligently and at this time they are taking all universal precautions to prevent the spread of the Staph Infection. At this time, it is not confirmed either infection is Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The School has sent out two (2) letters to parents. One of the most effective ways to help the school system fight this and keep this from spreading, is to wash your hands, top and bottom. I have attached the two (2) letters Parents should receive this afternoon when their children return home from school.
