Today at 7:32pm, rescuers were called to 1739 Roberts Road for a one-vehicle accident. The caller said that a vehicle struck a tree and that the driver was trapped inside and was unconscious. A medical helicopter was called in and landed at the Sterling mines off of US 42 about 5 miles from the accident. The 17 year old male driver was wearing a seatbelt. The driver struck the tree on the passenger side of the vehicle so hard that tree was in the console area on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The driver was going in and out of consciousness when rescuers arrived on the scene. There is no word yet on the 17 year old’s condition at this time. That is all the information we have at this time.
